Belém by Private Electric Tuk-Tuk, with the Bordalo II Raccoon
An electric tuk-tuk along the Belém riverside, privately, and quiet enough that the guide does not have to shout over an engine. The landmarks are the ones the district is known for: the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery and the Discoveries Monument, all of them from the Portuguese Golden Age. The route runs along the Tagus, out towards the point where the river becomes the sea. There is one stop for a custard tart, because the food is a reasonable way into a city and this is the district where the recipe started. The raccoon is the other thing worth booking for: a piece by Bordalo II, one of the best known street artists in Portugal, standing where almost no other Belém route goes. Private transport, silent, and no diesel.
