From the Rialto Fish Market to the Doge's Palace, Gondola of Five
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
VeniceA first day in Venice, arranged to cover the city rather than just the square, and it starts at the Rialto rather than at St Mark's. The walk crosses the Rialto Bridge and goes through the fish market, which is where the food culture of the city actually lives. Then the gondola, out onto the Grand Canal and into the back canals, with a maximum of five people per boat. After that, St Mark's Basilica with pre-booked tickets and first-floor access, which puts you level with the gold mosaics instead of looking up at them. Then the Doge's Palace, again skipping the line. The options differ and it is worth checking which you are buying. The 8:30am departure is capped at 20 people and includes a lunch break on your own. The 8:15am runs four hours, with up to 25 people and no break. The Venice Express half-day is four hours on the basilica and the palace, without the gondola.
