Urquhart Castle sits on the bank, and an hour is enough to work through the ruins of the old stronghold and its history without hurrying back to the coach. If you are arriving by cruise ship, read this first: the tour leaves from Inverness Bus Station, roughly 25 miles and 45 minutes from the Invergordon Cruise Terminal. Public transport on that stretch is very limited, so arrange your own transport and leave plenty of time. The bus departs from Stance Number 7 at Inverness Bus Station.
