The Pazzi Conspiracy Played as a Puzzle Game on Your Own Phone
Blood on the cathedral floor. This is not a guided tour. It is a walking game on an app, set in 15th-century Florence, and the case you are working is the Pazzi Conspiracy, the plot to murder Lorenzo de' Medici. You are the investigator, in a city that ran on art, gold and knives. The crime scene comes first: riddles solved outside the Duomo, where the attack happened. Then the seats of power, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Palazzo Medici Riccardi, which was built as much like a fortress as a house. The route goes through the medieval alleys to the Strozzi Palace and into the affairs of the rival banking families, and it takes in how Michelangelo and Botticelli were caught up in the story. Because there is no group, the pace is entirely yours. Stop for a gelato or at one of the wine windows and pick the hunt up afterwards. The enemies of the Medici are closing in. The question is whether you get there first.
