Meet at Charles IV's Statue, Under the Blue and White Umbrella

Two and a half hours through Prague Castle, with the admission ticket included in the price. The walk starts down at the river, on Křižovnické square by the statue of Charles IV, and goes up the way people have always approached the castle: across Charles Bridge, through Lesser Town Square, then up the hill, with the history of the place told on the way rather than all at once at the top. The complex is the largest of its kind in the world and covers more than ten centuries. Inside it: St Vitus Cathedral, the largest and most important church in Prague, where the Czech kings and queens were crowned as well as prayed for; the Old Royal Palace with Vladislav Hall; St George's Basilica, the second church built at the castle, where the guide takes up the Czech saints; and the Golden Lane, with what is known about the people who actually lived in those small houses.
