It Starts in an Office on Maiselova Street, Not at a Monument
Three hours on foot across Prague, from the Old Town up to the castle. The start is worth noting because it is unusual: the group forms indoors, at the GET PRAGUE GUIDE office on Maiselova 5, rather than at a statue or a clock with four other groups waiting round it. In bad weather that alone is worth something. From there to the Old Town Square, with the Astronomical Clock and the older stories attached to the square, then down to Charles Bridge, told as legend as much as history, since in Prague the two have never fully separated. The last stretch is the castle: what it was, who built which part of it, and the view back over Hradčany and the castle district, which is the point at which the layout of the city finally makes sense.
