The Nurse from Kinsale Who Built a Memorial for New York's Dead
A private day built round what you actually want from it: longer where a place holds you, shorter where it does not. The route takes in the main things, Blarney Castle, Kinsale and Cork city, with the guide alongside you at every stop rather than waiting in the car park. The stop worth booking for is outside all of them. The Garden of Remembrance above Kinsale was made by Cáit Murphy, a local woman who had worked as a nurse in New York, and who built it with her family for the firefighters and the chaplain killed on 11 September 2001. It is a small field, and it says more than most monuments manage.
