Versailles Small Group and the 357 Mirrors of the Grande Galerie
Everyone photographs the Hall of Mirrors. Almost nobody knows there are 357 of them, set between the French bay windows under the crystal chandeliers, and that is the sort of detail this small group tour deals in. The coach leaves from central Paris, near the Eiffel Tower, for the palace of Louis XIV. Three French kings lived here across more than a hundred years, and the chateau and its gardens are the most complete piece of 17th-century French art still standing. The guided route covers the State Apartments of the King and Queen, the Royal Chapel and the Grande Galerie. The gardens are André Le Nôtre's, 2,000 acres of groves, statues and fountains laid out à la française. Depending on the day and the season, you may catch the Fountains Show or the Musical Gardens before the return to Paris. Palace of Versailles

This was the residence of the Sun King, Louis XIV, and home to three of France's most illustrious kings for over 100 years.
