By Bike from Santa Apolónia to Belém, Four Hours, the Price Is the Rental
Lisbon by bike, from the centre out to Belém along the river, which is the flattest and the fastest way to cover that distance. The route takes in the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery, Pink Street, Cais do Sodré, the Time Out Market, the MAAT, the Electricity Museum, the Discoveries Monument and the Tagus, along with a good deal that is only on the way. The riding is easy and the tour works for all levels. The guide is local, knows where the photographs are, and fills the gaps between stops with the history. There is a stop for a pastel de nata, and a number of places along the route that nobody finds on their own. One thing to be clear about: the tour itself is free. The price here is the bike rental. The guides are volunteers, and at the end you tip them if the ride was worth it.

Torre de Belem
The most symbolic monument in Portugal, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and the one nobody leaves Lisbon without seeing.
Jeronimos Monastery
Another monument that has to be seen, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An extraordinary piece of building, begun at the start of the 16th century.
MAAT - Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia
The MAAT, by the British architect Amanda Levete, is the newest thing in Lisbon. The structure gives shade while bouncing the light off the water into the building. You can walk through it, over it and under it, and the roof gives a view over the Tagus and across to São Jorge Castle.
