A Main Course and a Drink Are in the Price, and Pickup Can Be Füssen
A private day around Ludwig II, the Bavarian king who built for a world that had already gone. Pickup is in Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Füssen, which is worth knowing if you are not staying in the city, and the vehicle has drinks on board. Neuschwanstein first: the guided tour inside, then the exterior and the viewpoints around it, including the Marienbrücke. Then lunch, which is part of the price rather than a stop you pay for: a main course of your choice and a drink, in a traditional restaurant. Linderhof follows. It was modelled on Versailles and it is the only one of Ludwig's palaces he lived to see finished. Inside are the Rococo rooms; outside, the formal gardens, the fountains and the Moorish Kiosk, which says as plainly as anything what he thought a palace should borrow from. The drive back runs through the Alps, with the rest of Ludwig's story. One thing before booking: all sales are final and cancellations are not refunded.

Munich
Morning pickup from your Munich accommodation, in an air-conditioned private vehicle with cold drinks and light snacks on board. The road out of the city runs through hills, villages and farmland, with viewpoints along the way. Then Neuschwanstein, standing above the Bavarian Alps with peaks, forest and lakes around it. Time here for the architecture and the views.

At Neuschwanstein the palace is seen on a small-group guided tour. Afterwards there is time for photographs: the castle, the old Marienbrücke, and the mountains around them.
Ettal
On the way to Linderhof, lunch in a traditional restaurant with some history to it. A main course of your choice and one drink are included in the tour price.
Schloss Linderhof
Next is Linderhof Palace, where Ludwig II lived for more than eight years. Time inside, and time outside for the formal gardens and the Moorish Kiosk.
Munich
The drive back to your Munich hotel, through the same Bavarian countryside going the other way: hills, villages, and the day behind you.
