Private Car Tour to Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath from London
A full day in a private car, with the itinerary running Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath. One thing to settle before booking: all sales are final on this one, and cancellations are not refunded. Windsor holds over 900 years of royal history, and the State Apartments there are the grandest in England, with Van Dyck and Rubens on the walls and painted murals overhead. St George's Chapel is on the same visit, where Prince Harry married Meghan Markle and where Henry VIII and Charles I are buried. Stonehenge is second. A guide works through who built the circle and why, and its link to the summer and winter solstice. The exhibition centre holds 250 ancient objects and the remains of a man who died 5,500 years ago. Bath is last. The Romans built it as a place of well-being when they first reached Britain, on top of the only natural thermal hot springs in the country, and the Georgians gave it the honey-coloured stone it is known for. It is the only city in the UK listed in its entirety as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pulteney Bridge crosses the Avon there, finished by 1774 to Robert Adam's Palladian design, built to link the city with land the Pulteney family wanted to develop, and unusual in carrying shops across its full span on both sides. Windsor Castle
The first stop is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the British Royal family for more than 900 years and the largest continuously occupied castle in Europe. The State Apartments are the grandest in England: paintings by Van Dyck and Rubens hang on the walls and elaborate murals cover the ceilings. Step inside St George's Chapel, where Prince Harry married Ms Meghan Markle and where prominent former monarchs are buried, Henry VIII and Charles I among them. On select mornings the Changing the Guard ceremony takes place, a colourful display of typical British pageantry in which the guards hand over their duties. When the monarch is in residence at Windsor, the Royal Standard flies from the flagpole of the Round Tower.
Stonehenge
Prehistoric Britain, 5,000 years back, with a guide to bring the monument's history to life. Who built Stonehenge? Why was it built? The answers come here, along with the fascinating link to the Summer and Winter solstice. There is a 5,500-year-old man to come face to face with, and a world-class exhibition centre with 250 ancient objects on display.
Lastly
Last is the historic city of Bath, built by the Romans as a place of well-being and relaxation when they first arrived in Britain. Britain's only natural thermal hot springs rise here, in a city where the ancient sits beside the contemporary. Thousands of years of history in one place, and the honey-coloured Georgian architecture is unique to it.

Pulteney Bridge
Pulteney Bridge crosses the River Avon in Bath. It was completed by 1774 and linked the city with land belonging to the Pulteney family, who wanted to develop it. Robert Adam designed it in a Palladian style, and it is exceptional in carrying shops across its full span on both sides.
