Windsor Castle has been a family home to British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is one of the official residences of His Majesty The King, which makes it the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. Some colleges were founded by monarchs: Christ Church was set up by Henry VIII in 1546.
