Regaleira in a Small Group with Licensed Guides, and Time to Ask

The Quinta da Regaleira with the ticket and a guided visit, in a group small enough that questions get answered. The estate is part of the UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Sintra, and the Initiation Well is what it is known for: a spiral descent cut down into the earth. Around it are the gardens, the tunnels, the grottoes and a Romantic architecture where almost nothing is decoration for its own sake. The guides are licensed and local, and the work they do here is reading rather than pointing.
