A guided tour of Schönbrunn, the Baroque palace that people call the Viennese Versailles, on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1996. The group meets in front of the palace, where the guide starts with the facade and the Habsburgs who spent their summers behind it. Then inside, for more than twenty rooms, most of them Rococo. Three are worth naming before you go. The Blue China Room, papered in the blue and white that the court could not get enough of. The Breakfast Room, which is domestic in a way the state apartments are not. And the Great Gallery, over 40 metres from end to end, which is the room the palace was built to hold. The whole thing takes two to two and a half hours. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start; after that, and for a no-show, nothing is refunded.
