Lisbon

Three places in one day out of Lisbon, in a minivan with no more than eight people in it: the palace, the coast and the river. Sintra comes first, up to the Pena Palace, the Romanticist building the country is known for. The visit is the outside of it: the coloured facades, the towers, the terraces and the gardens. After that there is free time in the centre of Sintra for the streets, the shops and whatever you want to eat. Cascais is next, the marina and the old Citadel quarter, with free time for lunch and a guide who knows which places are worth it. The afternoon is Belém: the Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the Jerónimos Monastery, and a Pastel de Belém at the end, which is included rather than suggested. The guide is with the group all day, and with eight people the stories actually reach everyone.
