Sintra on Foot from the City Hall, with Regaleira and a Stop at Piriquita
Sintra walked rather than driven, in a small group, starting at the city hall and going down into the village from there. The medieval history comes out in the streets themselves, which is the argument for doing this part on foot. There is a stop at Piriquita, the café that has been selling travesseiros and queijadas to Sintra for over a century, for the pastries or something more substantial. The Quinta da Regaleira is the guided part, with the entry ticket included, and it is the reason the UNESCO listing on this town means what it does. The walk ends back in the centre, so the rest of the day is open.
