InvernessThree castles come into view on this one, which is more than the title admits: Urquhart from across Loch Ness, Eilean Donan up close, and the ruin of Castle Moil at Kyleakin on the way back. The coach seats 16 and the driver is also the guide, which is what makes the running commentary possible on a road this long. The day starts early, out of Inverness along the Great Glen Fault Line to Loch Ness, where Urquhart Castle stands on the far shore and the monster is a matter of opinion. Then west to Eilean Donan, one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. On Skye, lunch is at Portree with time for the harbour. The north of the island brings Kilt Rock, with its waterfalls and cliffs, the Old Man of Storr, and the Quiraing. Kyleakin is the last stop, for refreshments and a view of Castle Moil, the Skye Bridge and Eilean Ban. Loch Ness
After an early start the road leaves the city and follows the Great Glen Fault Line to Loch Ness. There is a chance to spot the monster here, and a view of Castle Urquhart from across the water.
