The QR Code Comes a Week Early and Is Checked Inside, Not Just at the Gate
Tickets to the Summer Palace, booked ahead so the queue at the gate is not part of the day. Two tickets are on offer, and the difference is what they open. The regular ticket covers the main garden and suits a visit of one to two hours. The combination ticket suits two hours or more and adds the museums and the enclosed attractions inside the grounds, which are closed on Mondays. Because the Summer Palace is a fair distance from the centre of Beijing, there are also upgrades: a two-hour guided tour, a private car both ways, or a package with all three.

Haidian District
For the guided packages, the meeting point is in front of the ticket office at the East Gate of the Summer Palace (颐和园东宫门).
Summer Palace
Four packages, depending on what you want arranged for you. Package 1, ticket only. Choose the ticket type; the entry QR code arrives by email 5 to 7 days before your travel date. Download it when it arrives, because it is your only entry credential, and keep it to hand: it is scanned at the gate and again at every checkpoint inside the grounds. Regular ticket: for a visit of 1 to 2 hours, covering the main scenic areas, the lakes and the pavilions. Combination ticket: for 2 hours or more, adding the Grand Opera House, the Tower of Buddhist Incense, Suzhou Street and the Summer Palace Museum. Those are closed on Mondays.
Hall of Benevolence and Longevity
Package 2 adds a local guide, who meets you in front of the East Gate ticket office. It works with either ticket type. Two hours on foot through the Hall of Joyful Longevity, the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, the Long Corridor with its painted panels, and the Marble Boat on Kunming Lake, with the history at each. Afterwards you are free to walk the gardens or the museums at your own pace.
Long Corridor at the Summer Palace
Package 3, ticket plus a private car both ways. The Summer Palace is a good distance from central Beijing, and this covers door-to-door transfers between your hotel and the gate, with either ticket type. Package 4, all-inclusive: your choice of ticket, the 2-hour guided tour, and the private transfers.

- The ticket is only valid on the booked travel date. Please note that your reservation is not the actual admission ticket. You will receive a dedicated QR code from us separately, which serves as the valid entry pass—be sure to download it promptly.
- We will send you an email with the QR code ticket 5–7 days before your trip. Download the QR code in advance, and scan it directly to access the Summer Palace on your scheduled travel day.
- The Summer Palace is open daily all year round. However, the on-site museums—accessible only with a combined ticket—remain closed every Monday. For visitors planning a 2-hour visit, a standard ticket will be more than sufficient.
- Please scan the QR code we have send to you at any of the main entrance to get into the Summer Palace.
- Senior is free of charge, but you have to show passport with your date of birth on the spot and explain to them yourself.
