London

The guide is the product here. James Hart holds a London Blue Badge, the qualification the city's professional guides train for, and has been running tours for more than twenty five years. The group is deliberately small, which means questions get answered rather than shouted over. The route goes into the towers of the medieval palace, through rooms that held prisoners, and out to the private execution site. In the White Tower, Henry VIII's armour is on display. The Crown Jewels come with the rest of the Regalia used at coronations for centuries. The resident Yeoman Warders live inside the walls, and the ravens are there too. An afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Hotel can be added as an upgrade: sandwiches, pastries, scones and a selection of teas. The meeting point is the Schools and Communities Meeting Point on Tower Hill, next to the official ticket office.
