A coach across the Bavarian countryside, mountains and villages on the way, to the two castles that belonged to Ludwig II: Hohenschwangau, which was his family's, and Neuschwanstein, which was his own. Both are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. What the price covers is worth reading twice. The coach and the English-speaking guide are included; the entrance fees are not. Each castle interior is a guided tour in English that you add on, and you can take one, both or neither. Between the two there is free time, for a restaurant, for the shops, and for the walk to the Marienbrücke when the weather allows it.

Sonnenstraße 1, München-Altstadt-Lehel
The meeting point is the bus stop in front of the Fielmann opticians. The coach, with the company name on it, is there from about 8:45 a.m.
Alter Botanischer Garten
Meet at 8:45 a.m. at Sonnenstraße 1, 80331 Munich, where the coach is marked "Mentor Reisen". The driver and guide check you in there. Departure at 9:15 a.m., past a few Munich landmarks the guide explains on the way, heading for the first stop, Hohenschwangau.
Schloss Hohenschwangau
First, the guided tour of Hohenschwangau Castle, an extra depending on the option you book. The castle goes back to the 12th century; Ludwig II's family bought it in 1832 and rebuilt it in neo-Gothic, and it was their summer and hunting residence.

Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke)
The Marienbrücke, with its view of Neuschwanstein. In winter the bridge is normally closed for safety.
Alpsee
The Alpsee lies right beside Hohenschwangau Castle and can be reached in the free time. In summer you can swim in it.
