MunichNeuschwanstein and Linderhof, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, in a group capped at 28 people. The difference between this and the cheaper coaches out of Munich is what is already paid for. The entrance fees to both castles are included, and the access is skip-the-line, so the day is spent in the buildings rather than in front of the ticket windows. The coach is air-conditioned, with snacks, drinks and wi-fi on board. The running order is also the other way round from most: Neuschwanstein in the morning, when the light is on the front of it, then Oberammergau, then Linderhof in the afternoon. After the castle, the walk out to the Marienbrücke is the view everyone comes for, with Neuschwanstein on one side and the Bavarian Alps behind it. The bridge is closed through the winter months.

Karlsplatz 21, München-Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt
Sonnenstraße at the corner of Bayerstraße. Take exit G or F from the basement level. Google Maps: 4HQ7+FW Munich. Be at the departure point 20 minutes before departure.
Schwangau
Meet at 08:10 at Karlsplatz 21 (Stachus), next to the Buddy Hotel. Departure from Munich at 08:30, heading for the municipality of Schwangau, near the village of Hohenschwangau.

The castle is reached on foot, 30 to 40 minutes uphill, or by shuttle bus when the weather allows it. Inside, the history and the architecture of Ludwig II's castle.
Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke)
Worth the walk: the Marienbrücke, closed during the winter months, which gives the panoramic view of Neuschwanstein, the Pöllat waterfall and the Bavarian Alps behind them. Free time afterwards for lunch and shopping.
Oberammergau
After lunch, a stop of about 30 minutes in Oberammergau, enough to walk the streets and look at the shops. The village is known for its Passion Play, staged once every ten years, which dramatises the last five days of the life of Jesus and draws audiences from all over the world. Note that Oberammergau cannot be reached between early December and the end of March, because of the weather.
Schloss Linderhof
Around 15:45: arrival at Linderhof, on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2025, for the architecture, the interiors and the gardens. About 10 minutes on foot to reach the castle itself. Around 16:10 the guided tour of the interior begins, about 25 minutes, and the gardens are yours afterwards. Departure from Linderhof for Munich, arriving back at Karlsplatz 21 around 19:00.
