Ten to Twelve People, the 9:38 from Pasing, and a Swim in the Alpsee
A slower way to do Neuschwanstein, with ten to twelve guests per guide instead of a coachload. The travelling is by regional train rather than bus, which makes the journey part of the day: the guide talks about Bavarian country life and about Ludwig II while the countryside goes past the window. The castle ticket is included and booked in advance, with an entry time chosen to sit inside the shape of the day rather than dictate it. What that buys is the difference between the two kinds of castle visit: standing at the viewpoints for as long as they are worth, instead of moving because a coach is waiting.
