Pay the Guide in Cash, Choose One Castle or Both, and See Oberammergau from the Coach

Sonnenstraße 1, München-Altstadt-Lehel

Stand at Karlsplatz (Stachus) with your back to the fountains and the Obletter toy shop is on your left. Carry straight on along Sonnenstraße to the Fielmann opticians. The guide and the coach marked "Mentor Reisen" are there.

Stachus

Meet at 8:45 a.m. at Sonnenstraße 1, 80331 Munich, where the coach is marked "Mentor Reisen". The driver and guide check you in there. Departure at 9:00 a.m., past a few Munich landmarks that the guide explains on the way, and on to the first stop, Linderhof Palace.

Schloss Linderhof

Around 11 a.m. the coach reaches the Linderhof car park. The gardens are walked on your own, then the palace entrance. Linderhof is the smallest of the palaces and the only one fully furnished, built in the 19th century in French Rococo and Baroque. Versailles is behind both the architecture and the gardens. The guided tour is live in English at 11:10 a.m. and lasts about 30 minutes. The coach leaves at 12:00. (Not on the "Neuschwanstein, NO Linderhof" option.)

Oberammergau

Between Linderhof and the village of Hohenschwangau, under Neuschwanstein, lies Oberammergau, the village of artists. It is known for its painted facades, the Lüftlmalerei, and for woodcarving. The Passion Play staged there every ten years covers the last week of the life of Jesus, from Palm Sunday to Easter. The village is toured from the coach, which covers more ground than a short stop on foot would. (Not on the "Neuschwanstein small group relaxed & direct" option.)

Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke)

The Marienbrücke was built in 1845 and parts of the original railing are still there. The view of Neuschwanstein from the bridge is the one on every postcard, and it is worth the walk.

Schloss Neuschwanstein

In Hohenschwangau the guide collects the skip-the-line tickets for Neuschwanstein. The free time after that goes on lunch in one of the restaurants, or Hohenschwangau castle, or the shore of the Alpsee. The Marienbrücke is reached from here too. Neuschwanstein itself is 30 to 40 minutes uphill on foot, or by shuttle bus or horse-drawn carriage for a fee; the guide gives the details. The guided tour of the castle starts shortly after 4:00 PM and runs about 25 minutes with an audio guide. Go straight back to the coach afterwards: the return leaves at about 5:30 PM.
