Stonehenge and Windsor with 90 Minutes at the Stone Circle

This one publishes the thing most day trips leave vague: how long you actually get. Around 90 minutes at Stonehenge, up to two and a half hours at Windsor, on a day that runs from 8:15am to about 6:00pm. Stonehenge comes first, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most recognisable prehistoric monuments anywhere. Ninety minutes is enough to walk the circuit around the circle rather than glance at it from the path. Windsor is second. The castle holds over 900 years of royal history and is the largest continuously occupied castle in the world. The two and a half hours cover the State Apartments and St George's Chapel, where 11 monarchs are buried, Queen Elizabeth II among them, and where several royal weddings have taken place. The chapel is closed on Sundays, and there is extra time for the castle grounds either way. The ticket comes in three shapes: transport only, transport with entry to one site, or transport with entry to both. A professional guide is on board throughout. Boarding starts at 8.00am at Gate 19 inside Victoria Coach Station, 164 Buckingham Palace Road, about seven minutes on foot from Victoria Underground and Railway station. The day ends back near Victoria Station.
