Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, and it has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years. Today it is one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. The grounds cover more than 10.5 hectares, enough for a visit that takes in both the State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The State Apartments hold some of the finest works in the Royal Collection, and the rooms record the changing taste of the monarchs who lived here, Charles II and George IV above all. Much of the art still hangs in the setting it was first collected or commissioned for. A free multimedia tour lets visitors go round at their own pace. From October to March the route also takes in the Semi-State Apartments, which were George IV's private rooms in the 19th century.

St. George's Chapel

St George's Chapel sits in the Lower Ward of Windsor Castle, built in the high-medieval Gothic style and seating about 800. It is a Royal Peculiar, which means it answers directly to the monarch, and it is the chapel of the Order of the Garter.

Pulteney Bridge

Robert Adam designed Pulteney Bridge in 1769. Shops run the full span on both sides, something only three other bridges in the world can claim, and it is among the most photographed pieces of Georgian architecture in the city.

The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths sit at the centre of the City of Bath World Heritage Site: the remains of one of the great religious spas of the ancient world, still remarkably intact. The city's thermal springs rise on the site and the baths still run with natural hot water. (If you select include admission.)

Bath Abbey

Bath Abbey is an Anglican parish church in Bath, Somerset, and was a Benedictine monastery before that. Founded in the 7th century, reorganised in the 10th and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th, it was given major restoration work by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest Perpendicular Gothic buildings in the West Country. The abbey was dissolved in the Dissolution of the Monasteries and the cathedral was consolidated to Wells in 1539, though the name of the diocese never changed.
