Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Oxford in a Single Day from London
Ratings collected by Tiqets
England in a day is not a serious proposition, and this itinerary does not pretend otherwise. What it does is put three of the best known places in the south of the country into one coach day, with a guide at each. The coach leaves from Victoria Coach Station, and Royal Windsor is the first stop. English monarchs have lived here for centuries, the streets below the walls are worth the walk, and the castle above them is an official residence of the King. A guide takes you round it. Stonehenge is second, out in what is now the Wiltshire countryside. The monument is 5,000 years old and still unexplained, which is most of why people come. Oxford closes the day, and this stop is done on foot. The guided walk goes along the cobbles of the City of Dreaming Spires, a university city with more architecture than a single afternoon can take in. Then back to London.
